As an oncologic and Oncor-constructive breast surgeon, specialized in the management of benign and malignant breast conditions, including breast cancer, through my studies, research, and experience, I integrate concepts of plastic surgery with those of oncologic surgery.

This approach allows us to achieve both cosmetic and therapeutic excellence in patients who require partial or total breast removal due to a medical condition, commonly breast cancer.

Without adequate surgical planning that optimizes the aesthetic result, the psychological integrity of the patient is often compromised, frequently generating significant states of depression and directly affecting her self-esteem and self-image.

A patient experiencing depression is also more prone to complications, which makes the necessary treatment following surgery more difficult.

On the other hand, current advancements in oncology have allowed for a considerably high chance of surviving breast cancer. For this reason, these patients need to reintegrate into their social and intimate lives.

However, when self-image is affected, the reintegration process becomes more complex, impacting not only the patient but also her support group and loved ones.

It is precisely from this need that oncoplastic surgery emerges, with the objective of ensuring that all patients undergoing surgery for breast cancer can access, immediately and within the same oncologic surgical procedure, the best reconstructive alternative available.
